System Requirements

Before installing Namo DeepSearch, please make sure your system meets the following requirements.

 
General requirements
In order to be useful, Namo DeepSearch needs to be installed on a Web-connected server. You can install Namo DeepSearch on your own Web server (as long as it has a fixed IP address and is always connected to the Internet) or you can install on your ISP's or web hosting provider's server if it meets the requirements listed below.

Operating System : Windows NT/2000/2003, Linux(Redhat 6.0)
Disk space
Minimum of 7MB hard disk space is required. However, sufficient disk space for saving index database file is needed for proper running (depending on amounts of index).
Web server platform
The server computer must be linked to the Internet and have a Web server program that supports CGI (Common Gateway Interface), such as Microsoft PSW (Personal Web Server) or IIS (Internet Information Server) for Windows NT, or Apache for Unix, or another.
Telnet and FTP access (for UNIX-type servers)
In order to install Namo DeepSearch 4.5 on a web server running Linux, you need to upload all the Namo DeepSearch 4.5 setup files to the server before installing by using ftp or telnet. You also need to have CGI permission and know the CGI URL and CGI directory to manage Namo DeepSearch 4.5. If you don't have CGI program permission, ask your web server administrator.
CGI program permisson
Namo DeepSearch is a CGI program that requires the information entered by your site visitors to be received by the server so that the information can be processed. Therefore, to install and manage DeepSearch, you need to have CGI permission and know the CGI URL and CGI path. You will not be able to use Namo DeepSearch if you do not have all of the items mentioned above. If you do not have CGI program permission, ask your Web server administrator how to proceed.

  • DeepSearch supports all Web server software on the above platforms
Minimum RAM
  • Linux: 32 MB
  • Windows NT/2000/2003: 64 MB minimum
Free Disk Space
  • Minimum installation: 7 MB
  • Indexing & searching swap space: approximately twice the size of all collections and queries to be indexed and searched
